Parks Department

The New Castle Parks department is responsible for a variety of town amenities. Some of the most notable include:

Maintaining all nine of New Castle's established parks including maintenance, trash removal and watering.
Maintain pocket parks that are located downtown.
Set up, manage and tear down all special events put on by the Recreation Department and the Town of New Castle.
Cleaning and maintaining the Red Rock Ditch for raw water consumers.
Arbor Day tree planting with the Cub Scouts. The team teaches youth how to properly dig, plant and take care of trees.
In partnership with the Garden Club of New Castle, the parks department puts up downtown flower baskets, maintains them, maintains the water supply for all raised beds downtown as well as the flowers and trees inside of them.
During the holidays, the department sets up the town Christmas tree and decorates downtown with lights and swaps out street light banners for each holiday.
