ComicCon: Super Heros Spelling for Literacy Friday, April 6 

Holy alphabet, Batman! Spellebration 2018 is just around the corner! Join us on April 6th at Hotel Colorado. Spellebration is a costumed spelling bee for adults that supports Literacy Outreach and Colorado Mountain College Learning Labs. Our theme this year is Comic Con so start pressing your capes and studying your dictionaries. Don’t worry, it’s a team-based event so all the pressure is off!

If you’re not in the mood to spell, come Marvel at all the costumes, grab a drink, and participate in the silent auction. Admission is free for spectators.

New Castle Needlework Guild

6-8pm, 1st & 3rd Mondays of the month.
Cost is free, we meet at the River Center, 126 N 4th St.
Bring your project or if you would like to learn more about knitting, crocheting, etc.

News from New Castle Recreation
“Spike It” Youth Volleyball (ages 9-14)
The program is for young boys and girls wanting to try this exciting sport or brush up on their skills. Cost is $40/$50 after April 9. Dates/times: Mondays 5:30-6:30 pm for grades 3rd and 4th and 6:30-7:30 pm for grades 5th to 8th, April 9 to May 21. Location:TBD

New Castle Recreation Youth Running Club (ages 5-10)
New Castle Running Club is excited to begin a 6-week Spring session in April. Kids ages 5-10 will enjoy learning about the sport of running through various forms of drills, exercises and games. The season will end with a race for the kids to participate in. Cost is $45 per runner. Days/time: Mondays at VIX Park and Fridays at Coal Ridge High School track. 5-5:45 pm, April 25-May 30.

Want to learn to play the Ukulele?
Free drop in to strum or sing along, Wednesdays, 11 am – 12 noon at the Community Center.
