Town Prepares to Expand Water Treatment Plant

New Castle has been awarded an $814,554 grant (the full amount of our request) from the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) for upgrades to the water treatment plant. The funds will be used to replace two old treatment units (basically filters) which will increase our treatment capacity by over 1.4 million gallons per day. We will also improve our water measuring system, add a new pump station and expand our clear well. The total project cost is approximately $1.63 million.
