Want to learn to play the Ukulele?
Free drop in to strum or sing along, Wednesdays, 10:30 am – 12 noon at the Community Center.
Fitness for Kids :(Ages 4+)
A musically choreographed fitness class for kids intended to enhance cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength, and endurance, and flexibility. Exercises are callisthenic and plyometric based with yoga influenced by flexibility at the end of each session. A 15minute educational “health topic” is covered at the end of each session. Days/Times: Fridays, January 12, 19, 26, and February  2,9  from 9:00-10:00am. Cost: $30 or $10.00 ‘drop in’ fee and location is at Community Center.

Zumba:
Dance to great music and burn a ton of calories without even realizing it.
Jan 9-Feb 15 $60.00 or $5.00 drop in fee. Tuesday & Thursdays 6pm-7pm.

Acting Classes:
Kids Kabernet Musical theater: Ages 10-16, Jan 18-March 29 Thursdays, 4:30-6:00pm.

After School Acting Class: Ages 8-12, Jan 24-March 14 Wednesdays, 5:15-6:15pm.

Creative Dramatics: Ages 5-7, Jan 24 – March 14, Wednesdays, 4:15-5:00pm.

Ore House Grand Opening!

The Ore House Inn will host a grand opening on Friday, January 12, from 6:30-8:30pm, at the inn above Elk Creek Mining Company. Two rooms, Winterfell and Tombstone are ready for occupancy and will be the site for refreshments and tours.
These two rooms (of an eventual 5 rooms) can be booked through Airbnb or at the Elk Creek Mining Company.

WINTER: Youth Makers Studio (Ages 6+)
Students will use their imaginations to create 2D + 3D art projects of their choice using a variety of art mediums in this artist studio making environment. Day/Dates: Fridays, January 5 – February 23 (8 weeks). Time: 2:00 – 4:00pm, fee: $128 and location is the Community Center.
Class size: Min: 6 Max: 12, Instructor: Lynne Cassidy. Register by Friday, December 29th.

Nuggets Skills Challenge (Ages 7-14)
This competition allows youngsters to showcase their talents in dribbling, passing, and shooting. Top scorers from each age group advance to a sectional competition. Separate divisions for boys and girls. Cost: FREE  but pre-registration required, Days/Time: Saturday, January 27, TBD, location: Coal Ridge High School.

 Futsal (Ages 4-14)
Futsal is fun, fast, and exciting version of soccer played indoors and with a smaller ball.  Players ages 4-8 participate in an instructional program and will focus on basic soccer skills of dribbling, passing and shooting. Players ages 9-14 will focus on continued development of their soccer skills through instruction and games.
Ages 4-8
Cost: $40/$50 after 1/2/18
Season:  January 17-February 14
Days/Times: Wednesdays 5:00-5:45pm (ages 4-6) 6:00-6:45pm for (ages 7-8yrs)
Locations: Elk Creek Elementary School

CRVL Boys Basketball League (Boys grades 3-6):  Deadline is December 22.

Pickle ball Open Play (Ages 16+)
What’s Pickle ball you say? It is a combination of tennis, racquetball and ping-pong.  Played on a 20×44 ft. court (indoors or out),  The great thing about Pickle ball is that it takes such little time to learn how to play.  After your first twenty minutes of instruction you are well on your way to enjoying a new recreational sport. Cost: $20/$25 after the session has started, season: Session I, January 17-March 28 (no class on 3/21) (moves outside in April 2018). Days/Times:  Wednesdays, 7:00-9:00 pm, location: Elk Creek Elementary School

Winter Blues “Sweet 16” Pickle ball Tournament (Ages 16+)
New Castle Recreation is hosting a  co-ed 3.0 pickle ball tournament in “sweet 16” format. Each player will play nine game with nine different partners to determine the “King” and “Queen” of the court for the top three players.  Register as individual. Cost: $15 per tourney or $40.00 for all 3. Date: January 20, February 24,and March 31. Day/time: Saturday, 9:00 am-2:00 pm, location: Riverside Middle School.

Junior Titans Basketball Camp (Grades 3-8):  Learn the basic fundamentals of basketball from shooting, dribbling to passing from our Coal Ridge HS coaches and players. Open to both boys and girls. Rockin Vinyasa Yoga: (Ages 16+) on Saturday, December 9th
Yoga and Pilates come together to provide a challenging and invigorating workout. This class will include both seated and standing postures, focusing on core strength, increasing flexibility, balance, power, energy and coordination. All levels welcome! Bring a Yoga mat, towel or blanket. Cost: $10.00 drop in fee pre-register requested. Location: New Castle Community Center
