Grand Avenue Bridge Construction Update
The construction activity for the week of: March 18 – March 25, 2016
Project Message from the Public Information Team: Utility work continues through the end of the week near I-70 Exit 116. through the week intermittent closures will occur on the eastbound on and off ramps. A one lane configuration on SH82 under the interstate approaching the 116 ramps will also be in effect beginning Friday at 6 pm. Crews continue to work on the bridge foundations and substructure activities in the Glenwood Hot Springs parking lot. Utility work also continues along the west wing street in the 7 St. shopping plaza. Traffic Impacts:
Beginning Friday, March 18, 6 pm to March 26, both the eastbound on-ramp and off-ramp will be in a one-lane configuration. the one lane configuration begins approaching the exit ramps in both directions under I-70.
Beginning Monday, March 21 to Friday March 26, the I-70 eastbound on-ramp will be closed.
On Wednesday, March 23, Exit 116 eastbound on-ramp and off-ramp will be closed from 12 noon to 4 pm for paving underneath the interstate.
On Wednesday, March 23, 12 am (midnight) to 4 am, I-70 will be closed for all eastbound traffic at Exit 116. Motorists should exit early at the West Glenwood exit 114 for travel to Aspen on SH82. No access to the Glenwood Canyon during this closure.
7th St. will be closed from Colorado Ave. to Cooper Ave. until further notice.
