New Castle Recreation Department

Music for Toddlers (Ages 0-4 years)
Join local resident Julia Haberler to encourage your child’s love of music, with singing, dancing and so much more. Starting Wednesday, January 4, 10 – 10:45 am, at the Community Center and the cost is $30. Parent participation is required.
Junior Titans Wrestling (Ages 4-14)
CRHS Coach Kalvin Deere will be teaching basic techniques, team participation and self-respect. Starting February 27, Mondays and Wednesdays, 6 – 8 pm, at Coal Ridge High School and the cost is $75.
Inky Hands Studio Art Classes (Ages 6+)
Friday Art Adventure: Each week students will dive into a variety of imaginative 2D and 3D miwed media art projects. Session one starts January 13, 2 – 3:30 pm, at the Community Center and the cost is $44.

Grand Avenue Bridge Project Updates

 Dedicated Left Turn Pocket to Eighth Street CLOSED
The dedicated left turn pocket on eastbound SH-82 and Eighth Street is CLOSED through Spring 2017. Motorists should continue to Ninth Street to access city streets east of Grand Avenue. CDOT traffic has added several seconds to the left turn light at Ninth Street to accommodate this closure.
On the Grand Avenue Bridge
Motorists should anticipate periodic one-lane closures northbound and southbound. Some restrictions are in place for peak hours.
Christmas and New Year’s holidays:
Some crews will continue to work on the new pedestrian bridge over the holidays. No additional traffic impacts are scheduled from Friday, Dec. 23 through Sunday, Jan. 1. Have a safe and wonderful holiday.
